Outdoor Physical Classroom Update

Another exciting step forward for our Outdoor Physical Education Classroom!

Today, the asphalt base for our new outdoor track was officially installed! A huge THANK YOU to Showalter Construction for overseeing this important phase of the project and helping us continue to turn this vision into reality.

The asphalt will now cure for approximately two weeks. After that, our lead contractor, The Track Doctor, will return to install the rubberized surface that will complete the Outdoor Physical Education Classroom.

This project is about so much more than building a track. Our Outdoor Physical Education Classroom is part of Marsing School District’s continued commitment to the physical, mental, and social well-being of our students.

We know that regular physical activity and meaningful social connection can play an important role in supporting mental wellness and reducing the risk and symptoms of depression. We want to create spaces where students can move, connect, belong, and build healthy habits during PE classes, throughout the school day, and beyond.

And this space isn’t just for our students. When school is not in session, the Outdoor Physical Education Classroom and track will provide another opportunity for families and community members to walk, exercise, connect with one another, and be active together.

We are incredibly excited to watch this project take shape and even more excited about what it will mean for our students and the Marsing community for years to come.
