Community Schools in Rural America

Marsing School District will be taking the national stage!

Marsing School Board Chairman and Idaho School Boards Association President Jason Sevy, along with Superintendent Norm Stewart and Jackie Yarbrough, Senior Program Officer with the Blue Cross of Idaho Foundation for Health, will be presenting at the Consortium of State School Boards Associations (COSSBA) National Conference in Louisville, Kentucky.

Their presentation, “Community Schools in Rural America: The Marsing Story of Local Control and Lasting Impact,” highlights how Marsing’s Community School efforts at The HUB have transformed opportunities for students and families through strong partnerships and community collaboration.

Since launching The HUB in 2019, Marsing School District has worked with local, regional, and state partners to build a model that removes barriers to learning, strengthens family engagement, and improves student well-being, all while maintaining Idaho’s values of local control and fiscal responsibility.

Conference attendees from across the country will learn how a small rural district in Idaho leveraged partnerships, data, and school board leadership to support student success and strengthen its community.

We are proud to share the Marsing story on the national stage and demonstrate how partnerships truly make a difference for students and families.

Watch the video being shared at the conference and learn more about how The HUB and community partnerships are helping Marsing students thrive.
