|Marsing High School is not the biggest school in the Treasure Valley, but size isn’t everything. Husky pride is alive and well and with attitude comes altitude. A 2A school with academic options found at the bigger schools, but with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Come on in and I will show you around…
Marsing offers many classes that prepare our students for life after high school. We currently have an agreement with Northwest Nazarene University that allows five of our classes to be taught for concurrent credit. Students enrolled and taking advantage of this program can graduate from high school with over a semester worth of college credit from a prominent university. We also offer several classes from the pro-tech field. These classes are geared for students entering a trade school after graduation. Imagine getting a head start on your future while still in high school!
We are a leader in technology available for students as well. Marsing School District was the first school in the northwest to receive Promethean’s Active Expressions for the classroom. These cutting edge student response systems allow students to communicate with the teacher wirelessly using Bluetooth enabled devices. LCD projectors and Smartboards are used in classrooms to enhance learning and engage students. Three separate computer labs give our students able opportunity to access the technology they need to be successful. Several of our classroom have computers available to students in addition to the labs. Laptops are available for students to check out in the library as well.
The Idaho Educational Network (IEN) will soon be installed here. This will give our students the ability to take classes and interact with teachers and programming anywhere in the world in real time! Students will be able to take classes from universities throughout Idaho without ever leaving the building. This technology will enable our students to take subjects that were not available before; such as dental hygienist training, equine training, and early childhood education are some examples of the offerings that will be available for concurrent credit through Idaho State University.
Through the Canyon Owyhee School Service Agency (COSSA), Marsing is able to offering classes in diesel mechanics, building trades, welding, nursing and engineering. These classes will soon be taught in a brand new facility. These advanced classes are available to juniors and seniors only.
If extra-curricular activities are your thing, we have a bag full. Athletics include volleyball, football, basketball, wrestling, baseball, softball, track and field. We can also co-op with other neighboring schools if you need another. There is Academic Decathlon, band, choir, FFA, FHLA, BPA, rodeo club, cheer squad, drama, a strong student council and a writing club available as well.
If you are looking for a big academic punch with lots of opportunity to grow as an individual while being in a group then I strongly suggest you come and check us out.
