Carrie Patterson -- Intern Counselor through Boise State University
This year is my first year at Marsing Elementary as the school’s counselor. I graduated May of 2015 with my Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from Boise State University. I decided to take my education one step further and applied for the Advanced Standing Masters of Social Work Program. I am in my final year and will graduate this May with my master’s degree in social work from Boise State University.
Last year as an undergraduate student, I completed my practicum in the Kuna School District as a school social worker. I found that I absolutely love the school setting, which is why I choose Marsing for my practicum this year. Children are so full of life and it is so rewarding to help them develop positive social skills that they can use to be successful in life.
At little about me, I am married and a mother of three. I have two son’s that are 15 and 8 years old as well as daughter who is 6. I have lived in Nampa area for the last 10 years. I love the diversity that the Treasure Valley has to offer. One of my favorite things to do is go camping and go every chance I can. I also have two dogs, which add to the mix of my super busy life. One of my dogs is a bright blue eyed husky (a sign that I was supposed to be here in Marsing as a Husky) and a golden retriever.
