Welcome Back! School is back in session, and I would like to remind everyone of a few things to help make this year the best ever. But before I get to that, I would like to welcome our new staff members at Marsing High School: Ms. Freeman, our new English teacher; Mr. Young, our new Spanish teacher; and Ms. Phillips, our new health and P.E. teacher.
If your child is absent, please notify the office the same day if possible. In order for the absence to be excused, the office must be notified within the first two days back at school. If a student misses more than 8 days in a semester, for any reason, they will lose credit for that class. The student may appeal the loss of credit at the end of the semester. A student is given 3 “free tardies”. The fourth and subsequent tardy will result in after school detention or in school suspension for 6 or more.
Cell phones must be turned off except before school, during lunch, and after school. If you must contact your child during school, please call the office, and we will get them a message. If it’s an emergency, please let us know.
Please be sure to review the student handbook with your family. By knowing the rules, policies and procedures, it can make life a lot easier for everyone and eliminate misunderstandings.
Again, welcome back and if you ever have any questions, comments or suggestions, please feel free to stop by the office for a visit or give me call at 896-4112 ext. 296.
